Disk encryption password key reminder failed

I earlier versions of Trisquel I used to be reminded via in a popup box in GNOME to write down a password key on a piece of paper in case I forgot the password and locked myself out.

I didn't get this reminder notification in Trisquel 8.0 which is the first version that uses MATE, can that be the reason?

Trisquel 8.0 support ended in April 2021.
Please open a new issue in case it remains on the current supported
release.
