Dell Inspiron 15 3558 won't power on

Been using a Dell Inspiron 3558 with Trisquel 11 installed on it. gifted by someone who wasn't using it anymore. This morning, chose 'suspend' from the log-out menu, it went dark and quiet, and since then won't power on at all. Pressing the power button does nothing. It's always attached to a power adapter, which doesn't charge the battery, though. Light is still blinking at front left corner, blue and orange, as before. Would be grateful for any suggestions how to get it to start again. Thanks for any answers in advance!!
