I was offered to use something called Mibbit by a browser pop-up. Mibbit is proprietary software and should not be offered.
Mibbit should be removed and replaced by free software such as https://kiwiirc.com/docs/development

Apparently it's a service and because it's about communicating with others it's not SaaS either.
The client requires nonfree javascript though. Isn't this an issue?
