Abrowser crashing Proton Mail tab

Hey!

For some months now it's being a constant issue. I open Abrowser (only addons are NoScript (with Proton whitelisted) and uBlock Origin), it already has my password saved for Proton, so I just open the inbox, and it crashes the tab. Not the Abrowser as a whole, I am attaching a print of the error. I have to close the browser try again, and sometimes again until I get it working.
Anyone else experiencing this error? Also, I have considered using ungoogled-chromium for Proton if I can't find a solution for this, any feedback on it?

Thanks.

Do you have other add-ons, like jshelter for instance? Besides, in my recollection, the web interface of proton mail uses at least 5 or 6 different domains, so you may need to have them all allowed.

You could try making a special abrowser profile for protonmail, without any add-on. In that case, you need to always start abrowser with the "-P" option, in order to select the right profile. I use 5 abrowser profiles.

Hi,

Nope, no other addons. Just those two.

I have been running ungoogled-chromium since yesterday, I have the exact same addons installed now (uBlock Origin and NoScript), I have it running inside Firejail just as Abrowser, all the same... It doesn't crash.
Honestly, I would rather have it working on Abrowser but if I would have to run it separately (with the Profile option) I would just go and end up using ungoogled-chromium. In that case I might have to think of installing it, right now I'm running the AppImage for testing.

I do have NoScript differently configured though. I just remembered that NoScript comes with a bunch of whitelisted domains by default (not sure why, whatever). In my Abrowser I removed those and only whitelist the ones I want. Maybe it's one of those that are sometimes necessary (still weird that it ends up working after a few tries).

Hi again.

I decided to give a shot at Abrowser in a separate profile as you suggested. Few tests without any addon, and now running with only uBlock Origin. Seems to be working fine so far (even though I run it inside Firejail). Leaving NoScript out since I don't really open links from emails anyway. Seems to work fine this way, so I do agree it's probably NoScript blocking something there that shouldn't be blocked.... I will stick with this solution for now.

Btw, since you also seem to use Proton, do you know how to enable desktop notifications for it in Abrowser? I have those working on unggogled-chromium, but Abrowser doesn't do anything when I click the "enable desktop notification" message at the top.
Thanks!

For ProtonMail, I prefer to use hydroxide rather than their JavaScript-reliant bloated webpage. Hydroxide is an MIT-licensed ProtonMail API bridge that supports popular e-mail protocols such as IMAP, SMTP, and CardDAV, making it a good companion to your mail client of choice, which in my case happens to be IceDove.

Thanks for sharing, it was good to learn of that.

Not exactly what I am looking for though, I don't really mind the browser based approach (so long as the tab doesn't crash ahah).

hydroxide also works well with evolution. I install hydroxide via guix.

Also, is there any real difference between using ungoogled-chromium to access the JS ProtonMail and using this

https://github.com/vladimiry/ElectronMail

I noticed another thread here mentioning this option, but the whole "Electron" thing (which I never fully understood, tbh) was there as a reason for it not to be in Trisquel. Any feedback greatly appreciated.
